Archdiocese of Detroit
Creative Director and Senior Producer from 2019 to 2022
As the Creative Director for the Archdiocese of Detroit, I had the immense responsibility of managing a team of 7-8 full-time creatives and coordinating with 5-10 part-time contractors at various times. We handled over four distinct brands for the Archdiocese, including:
One of my primary tasks was to elevate everything produced by the Archdiocese to a professional standard that hadn't been seen in decades. This involved training an existing team, hiring new talent, and executing several brand redesigns and content strategies, all while maintaining the daily operations of the Archdiocese, which serves millions of Metro Detroit residents. It was akin to building the ship while it was flying.
My oversight included the Creative and Art direction for a wide range of materials, from brochures, flyers, and posters to social media feeds, videos, and podcasts. The goal was to bring a cohesive, high-quality look and feel to all Archdiocese communications.
The challenge was immense but rewarding. We managed to uplift the quality and consistency of the Archdiocese's output, ensuring that every piece of content, whether printed or digital, reflected the mission and values of the organization. This comprehensive overhaul not only improved the Archdiocese's public image but also enhanced its ability to engage and serve the community more effectively.
Working on this project and with this team showcased my ability to lead a diverse team through significant transitions, maintain high standards of creativity and professionalism, and deliver impactful content across multiple platforms.
